A crop grown in a relatively short period of time between two main crops of the year or before a major crop is called zaid/interstitial crop. According to the situation, when the main crop is damaged, the crop grown in its place or the crop grown in the middle of any main crop is also called zaid or intercrop.Proper and timely use of available resources is very necessary for increasing agricultural production under Zayed farming. For Zaid crops, it is necessary to keep these main two things in mind –
✔ Having proper irrigation facility.
✔ The field should be vacant at the appropriate time for sowing the Zaid crop.

What is Zaid Crop?
Zaid crops have good ability to tolerate high heat and dry winds. That is, these crops can tolerate strong heat and dry winds more than Kharif and Rabi crops. This season is the best time to collect soil samples for Kharif crop and get them checked.
Examples of Zaid crops include crops like moong, urd, sun, mukhi, groundnut, green, fodder, cucumber, cucumber, watermelon, taroi, cantaloupe and tomato etc.
